While the fate of Brett Kavanaugh and the events of his high school and college days are still debated, one thing is crystal clear, Brett Kavanaugh was a total douchebag. And of course, he still is. People, as they say, don’t change, especially when there are no forces in one’s life which ever demand it. Kavanaugh’s doughy face in his prep school year book photo has been making the rounds in the news. His yearbook caption enforces the douchiness. His privilege, wealth and arrogance are all classic douchebag. Many of us raised in proximity to rich kids have known Kavanaugh’s in our own life and when we see they at the bar the night before Thanksgiving to this day, they’re still douchebags.
Which teaches us a valuable lesson that extends beyond Brett Kavenaugh. Almost all of our leaders were privileged douchebags.
George W. Bush was an infamous fratty douche.
Former Rep Eric Cantor’s yearbook caption was, “I want what I want when I want it.”
Which gives me an idea.
Every new congress, we publish a yearbook featuring each member’s high school photo and caption. Much is gleaned from these pure distillations of a person’s self-reflection as they embark on their lives, lives which led them to immense power. Before the polish, the stage management and the career to be jeapordized, one’s high school yearbook, for better or worse, tends to tell an honest story about a person.
Most were douchebags and most still are.
